Hair Transplant Techniques

At AVA Hair Transplant, we pride ourselves on utilising the most modern and effective techniques in hair transplantation. Every patient is unique and our team of reconstructive surgery specialists, with over 8 years' experience in the field, are committed to providing personalised solutions tailored to each individual's needs.

Choosing the right technique for your hair transplant is essential, and our team of specialists is here to guide you every step of the way. Here is an overview of the main techniques we use:

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)

The FUE technique involves the individual extraction of hair follicles from the donor area using a micromotor, at the head of which an instrument called a "punch" is attached. This minimally invasive process allows rapid recovery and almost invisible scarring.

Advantage:
- Minimal scarring due to spot extraction.
- Short recovery time.
- Flexibility in harvesting follicles from different areas of the body.

Disadvantages:
- Duration of surgery: takes longer.

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)

The FUT technique, also known as strip harvesting, involves removing a strip of scalp skin from the donor area. Hair follicles are then dissected from this strip to be implanted in the desired area.

Advantage:
- Allows a large number of follicles to be extracted in a single session.
- Ideal for patients who require a large volume to transplant.
- Shorter intervention time.

Disadvantages:
- Longer recovery time.
- Visible scar on the back.

Direct Hair Implantation (DHI)

DHI combines the extraction of hair follicles by FUE and their immediate implantation using a special instrument.

Advantage:
- Precise control over implant depth and angle.
- Reduced recovery time and minimal discomfort.
- Grafts can be implanted without cutting the hair on the scalp.

Disadvantages:
- Lower density reconstruction.

Saphire Technique

The Saphire technique combines the extraction of hair follicles by the FUE method and their manual implantation with special tweezers after making precise incisions with a saphire in the scalp. This approach gives excellent results and minimises trauma to the skin.

Advantage:
-Increased implantation accuracy.
- Less visible scars and faster recovery.
- Flexibility in hairline design for superior aesthetic results.
- The possibility of reconstructing a higher density, compared to DHI.
- Shorter implantation time.

Disadvantages:
- It requires trimming the hair on the scalp to a certain length.

Intumescence Anaesthesia : Safety and Comfort at Every Step

At the AVA HAIR TRANSPLANT Clinic, we are dedicated to each individual patient, ensuring that each hair transplant procedure is carried out in the safest and most comfortable conditions. We use intumescence anaesthesia, an advanced and effective technique that minimises pain and improves the overall patient experience.

What is Intumescence Anaesthesia?

Intumescence anaesthesia is a local technique that involves injecting an anaesthetic solution into a specific area to cause swelling of the tissue. This blocks the transmission of pain signals, providing a form of maximum comfort during the procedure without affecting the patient's consciousness.
